Tyler Clementi's Suicide Sparks Outrage At Rutgers (VIDEO)

If his roommate had a problem with Tyler being gay he should have requested a room change or requested that Tyler change rooms. I had heard on a news report (WNBC New York), that Tyler had asked to use the room privately and Ravi agreed. So why spy? Why broadcast it even if you did? Why not just confront the guy and tell him that the two of you have to make new arrangements. This is an act of personal t3rroism and the should be treated as such.

House Overwhelmingly Passes Trade Sanctions Bill Targeted At China

I see a lot of negative comments about blaming China for a condition we created. That we will loose more manufacturing jobs if this is passed. First off, I do not think the Dems in the Senate have the guts to vote in favore of this legislation. Secondly, why would we loose more jobs to China, because we could not export products to them? We export almost 75% less then we import. We could only increase jobs in this country if their products become unsubsidized. As their products start to cost more, we will have the chance to start manufacturing those products here. If we were to impose a carbon tax on importing companies, not the cost of imported goods, the real cost of buying products from China would cause American business to see profits in making those products here.

The opportunity to bring jobs, manufacturing jobs, back to this country is great, if we can generate the political will to do so. Maybe we need to try and hijack the Tea Party, rather than let corporations and lobbyist control it.

Republicans Now Blocking Obama's Picks For Lower Courts, Dems Threaten Retaliation

First off Republicans have been putting activist judges on the courts forever. It was their Justices that decided that the 14th Amendment applied to corporations as well as people. But for the Democrats to say "if Republicans continue on this course, a GOP president one day may experience the same tactic", is ridiculous. They have had 20 months of Ripbulican obstructionism and they have not retaliated yet. Do not expect to see a change in the future.

Americans Vastly Underestimate Wealth Inequality, Support 'More Equal Distribution Of Wealth': Study

Congress does not have the strength to increase taxes to levels that they need to be. There is too much money in the electoral system from lobbyists and corporations (made worse by the Supreme Court). Even if you forget about health care, we do not spend enough money on our infrastructure and educational system. Our educational system is made worse than any other country because of its fragmented nature.

You cannot conduct a war while providing tax cuts to anyone. At least during WWII we issued war bonds. But people have been convinced that low interest rates guaranteed by the government is no good. We should all be speculating on the market so that we can be fleeced like we were in 2008.

Wealthy people do not pay the same taxes as other Americans. Their effective rate (for those making over $250K), is only 17% after deductions. But even at 35%, the amount of disposable income is so disproportional to the rest of the population as to not make it fair. The more disposable money you have the more likely you are to gamble it in thy market. If there are not strong regulations controlling the market you end up with bubbles and crashes. This will continue since we did not return to the controls we had prior to 1997.

Democrats Look To Punt On Tax Cut Debate [UPDATE]

The Democrats and particularly the Senate leadership have no idea about how to fame a message explain their position. It is easy to explain tax cuts for the middle class while increasing those taxes on the wealthy. In fact it is not a tax increase, as the decrease was sunsetted and they are supposed to return to pre-war levels. What the tax increases mean is that those small businesses will be able to invest more money back into the company rather than take the money out in income. You do not grow a business as an owner by increasing your salary, you re-invest it. How hard is it to get that message out. How hard is it to tell people that the wealthiest in this country increased their personal wealth by over 8% while the rest of America saw their wealth decrease by double digits. I hope that next year Harry Reid is replaced as Majority Leader, he has never led the Senate nor the majority

Hidden Under Tax-Exempt Cloak, Political Dollars Flow

R-A-T-S is the perfect description for those four men on the Supreme Court. They have done more to make this country beholden to corporations and speculators. The founders were against corporate power. In fact, they were so anti-corporation that they would only allow corporations to form under very specific circumstances and according to very strict state regulation. Up until the 1890's corporations couldn't be formed that would exist any longer than the perceived working life of a person. That ranged from 20 to 40 years. That was the maximum time life of a corporation. That all changed when the 14th amendment was read by the Supreme Court to not only allow for "equal protection" for people, but for corporations too.

The son a a fascist and great admirer of Mussolini who defined fascism: "Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power". This has been Scalia's view as a judge and Sumpreme Court Justice. These four have done more to make this a reality than any company or politician in the country.

Ahmadinejad U.N. Speech (VIDEO): U.S. Walks Out Over 9/11 Conspiracy Theories

There seems to be a lot of people that do not understand diplomacy and how nations interact with each other. In a forum like the General Assembly of the UN, there is not an opportunity to rebut someone's statements when addressing the Assembly. They only way to show disapproval or disagreement is to walk out. If you walk out and no other country follows, you are out in the cold. However, over 20 delegations walked out with the US.

This is not a forum where people boo or shout back. This is accepted behavior by every nation as a way to maintain civility in what can become beyond boisterous. The British have found a way to voice displeasure without shouting down the speaker, the Koreans and other nations seem to find that they end up brawling. I would rather that people walk out then end up not allowing someone to speak to those that would listen or ending up in physical fight.

Blockbuster Bankrupt: Video Chain Files For Bankruptcy Protection

Blockbuster killed Blockbuster. Like many American companies, they incurred debt in order to buy up competitors. They tried to control a market without being the best provider of a product, just the only one that provided the product. They spent money building new locations while avoiding improving customer service, and the had the hubris to think that newcomers and new technology would not overcome their massive size. This is typical of American corporate think. That is why GM and Ford, who both went on buying binges and bought up auto companies around the world, left them unable to compete with Japanese and Korean companies.

Of course it is not all Blockbusters fault, but also the fault of the movies studios and their distribution arms. Just like record labels, movie studios did not adapt to changing technology and changing American habits. They have some responsibility here just like the record labels do in killing most of the music store and the reason people went there. Books will be next as Both Barnes & Noble and Borders are on the verge of bankruptcy.

VA Made Secret Deal With Prudential Over Soldiers' Life Insurance Payouts

Just another way how corporate America screws Americans in any way they can whether it is with or without government complicity, and this to my fellow service men and women. The question should be why doe the government use an insurance company for this, why do they not maintain these funds themselves, and make the payouts when they are requested? Why do we need to make a company profits off the back of our service personnel? As a matter of fact, why do we allow corporations make a profit providing a service to the tax payers? We could save money by doing it ourselves.

Corporations have no qualms about Ripping people off, they are only concerned with their market price, profits and corporate officers are mostly interested in bonus money, since they all have golden parachutes, even if they run the company into the ground.

Veterans life insurance should be run by the government, just like their health care, which is now considered one of the best systems in the world.

Iraq Posting Massive Surplus Thanks To U.S. Taxpayers

This was a war that Donald Rumsfeld said would pay for itself. I guess those NeoCon guys can't do math. We have wasted lives, equipment, and money on this unnecessary war. It has destroyed our economy, put Americans out on the streets, shuttered businesses and yet Ripublicans continue to demand tax cuts for the rich. This is what the Tea Party wants, the total destruction of America. The real Americans that are supporting it just don't know what the ultimate goals of their Astro Turf organization is.

Geithner Urges Action On Economy

Maybe everyone in the administration should have been reading up on Roosevelt and the Great Depression. It is appearent that what prolonged the depression was trying to reduce the deficit before the economy had recovere sufficiently.

We need a tax policy that makes corporations pay their taxes (Exxon among others got a refund), that those that have more disposable income have higher taxes, that we tax jobs that are sent overseas, and that we tax carbon on products that are shipped to this country. If we do not find a way to grow real livable wage jobs, we will never recover from this Great Recession.

I can see no other reason for the methods that they use.

John Boehner Is Tightly Bound To Lobbyists

Boehner is a s corrupt as they come. He does not meet with labor union and environmentalist, he says because they support job killing policies. You can not even make sense of that thought process. Labor unions want to kill jobs? Please, don't insult me with your lies. Environmentalist want to kill jobs? Please, they want to make new jobs that will not pollute the planet and help make it more sustainable.

The people that want to kill jobs are toe corporation, the ones that are so willing to ship a job overseas so that they can increase their stock price and get bonuses to their corporate officers. American corporations have done nothing without being pushed by the government. They would never have put seat belts or air bags in cars on their own; would never have established the internet without DARPA development money; would never have developed and interstate road network on their own; and have not, even though it is said they could, develop the technology on their own to go to the moon or establish their own space stations to manufacture goods.

September 11 Anniversary Stained By Politics And Prejudice

The rhetoric of the right has made this Islamic center something that it is not. Americans have a history of prejudice against entire groups when they are attacked. We interred the entire Japanese community after Pearl Harbor without any real proof that any of them were in sympathy with Imperial Japan. We did not do the same with the Germans, although many of the American fascist we sent to concentration camps.

The Muslims of New York have every right to have a cultural center near ground zero, just as much as the Greek Orthodox deserve their church there and the Episcopal' Trinity church. No one demanded an invasion or Puerto Rico when their separatists shot up the Capital.

The best way that we could have memorialized those that died during 9/11 would have been to rebuild the towers as they were as quickly as possible. The cultural center could be a treat asset to the city and the country, to ensure that people understand Islam and also to get make Muslims feel more apart of this country.

Every culture that has come here has come for the ability to be free, free from persecution, free to raise their children in a safe environment, free to be better off then where they came from. This is what has made america great and why so many different people from countries that were bitter enemies have gotten along and made a better country.

September 11 Anniversary Stained By Politics And Prejudice

"There are a whole lot of religious people in America, including the majority of Democrats. When we abandon the field of religious discourse—when we ignore the debate about what it means to be a good Christian or Muslim or Jew; when we discuss religion only in the negative sense of where or how it should not be practiced, rather than in the positive sense of what it tells us about our obligations toward one another; when we shy away from religious venues and religious broadcasts because we assume that we will be unwelcome—others will fill the vacuum. And those who do are likely to be those with the most insular views of faith, or who cynically use religion to justify partisan ends".

September 11 Anniversary Stained By Politics And Prejudice

While the MSM makes a big deal out of something that no one complained about when it was announced back in January, everyone is forgetting that the victims families are still trying to settle their dispute over the terms of the insurance payout. litigation continues, rescuers are still suffering from illnesses contracted from spending time on the pile, and people have lost homes, jobs and loved ones while everyone fights over money.

Those people that committed the crimes were fanatics sent by a fanatic. The one person who personifies peace and understanding is the one that is being persecuted. Imam Rauf has worked closely with the FBI since the first bombing of the World Trade Center in 1993. He has had a mosque in that neighborhood for decades, which is undersized for the congregation. He is trying to build a cultural center that would include floors for other religions so that there can be more understanding between them.

It is the bigots, the small minded and the extremists on the other side that are making this into an issue that never existed. It is another attempt to divide the nation along lines, as Julius Caesar said "divide and conquer".

They have a Constitutional right to build a CULTURAL CENTER in a building that they own and on one else wanted. If they cannot have a CULTURAL CENTER there, then all religious structures should be removed from a 10 block area around the site.

2010 Candidates Refuse To Debate Their Opponents: What Are They So Afraid Of?

The amazing thing about debates is that issues can be discussed without the rhetoric being used in the media. However, political "debates" are mostly B.S. Politicians should have to debate in the Lincoln-Douglas style, getting 13 minutes for each topic, affirmative constructive (3 minutes), cross-examination of affermative by negative (3min.), negative constructive(7 min.), cross-exam of negative by affirmative (3 min.), affirmative rebuttal (4 min.), negative rebuttal (6 min.), affirmative rejoinder (3 min.). The moderator should be able to stop a speaker when they are not following the format.

People would actually hear real issues, get to hear their candidates position and hear real rebuttals to the opposition. What we get now is just talking points with the candidates not really understanding their "own" positions. Incumbents and political hacks would quickly get weeded out, so would extremists.

Of course, this will never happen.

Atheists Erect Billboard In Oklahoma City, Critic Says It's 'Like They're Poking A Finger In Your Eye'

It is amazing that so many Christians do not know their own history. Christianity today is not what is was after Jesus was crucified. Then the "christians were Jews that believed their savior had arrived. Others drifted from that and believed that Jesus was merely a man, others that Jesus never really existed. It was not until Constantine that there was consolidation of "Christian thinking" mostly around the teaching of Paul, not Jesus.

Everyone needs a belief in something, whether it is a god, many gods, science or just in man as a understanding being. When people stop feeling self-righteous about their beliefs and accept that other people may believe something different, we may survive as a species.

Obama Strongly Hints At Warren Nomination To Head Consumer Bureau

"Obama said that even an appointment for dogcatcher would have trouble getting through the divided Senate under such partisan conditions".

This is because the Ripublicans do not care about the country, only returning to power any way they can. They would rather destroy the country than try to make it better. During the time that the Democrats have controlled the House and the Senate, they have done everything they could to prevent legislation from being passed, nominees from being confirmed, and fixing the economy that they destroyed.

Obama Hints At Procedural Compromise On Bush Tax Cuts, Says GOP's Holding 'Middle Class Hostage'

Returning taxes to a level they were (which the law said was only supposed to last until 2011), is not taking money away from people. In fact the taxes on the wealthy were much higher during the Republican administration of Eisenhower (90% top rate). The economy was moving right along during the 1950's and no one was complaining that Ike was ruining the country.

People that make over $250K that do not run their own small business are not creating wealth anyway. Wealth is created by making finished goods from raw materials, which are created at the worker level. Bankers and investors did not "earn" that money. They made a gamble and won, nothing more. They did not improve the economy, just their own bank account, usually at the expense of real workers.

Taxes should be increased on those that make over $250K, especially on unearned income. That money should be taxed at the top rate. Capital gains should be a progressive tax with a top rate of 60% for any investment that is held for less than one year and progressively reduced to 15% after seven years.

Quran Burning Story: This Is How The Media Embarrass Themselves

The media has been built on sensationalism. It never was intended to be educational nor informative. The broadsheets of the revolutionary period were anything but truthful and were designed to stir up the population to revolt against the king.

As Jason pointed out, there already is a mosque in the neighborhood in which muslims have lived for practically the last 400 years. They have been living and praying in one of the most densely populated church neighborhoods in the city. So dense in fact that the Greek orthodox church next to the World Trade Center was destroyed when the towers came down, Trinity church was covered in the dust from the towers and so was the mosque that is several blocks north of the site. Oh yeah, lets not forget that Muslims (working at the Trade Center and employed by NYPD and FDNY) were among those killed in the attack.

Bigots and those just looking to increase their presence in the news have used this to inflame the population. This is the type of right wing tactic that has been used by fascists in Italy and Germany prior to taking power. This is how the people are manipulated by a few people to forget what their country was founded on. Yet here we find Ripbulican politicians using big government and the separation of church and state (normally anti-theme) as a rallying cry.

The way to honor 9/11 victims would have been to rebuild the towers as they were.

Reckless Mortgage Lenders With Criminal Records Slip Through Federal Crackdown

So why didn't WaPo do some checking and see how many people at FHA are there from Ripublican administrations. Since we all know that Ripublicans believe that government not only doesn't work but can't it would seem logical that they have instilled in many government agencies over the years a sense that nothing can be done and just don't worry about it someone will fix it later.

Government works when people are employed that believe it works and use the powers that we have given them through legislation to make and enforce the regulations to prevent and stop abuse. I doubt that nothing can be done to stop these people from forming new companies and continuing to Rip off the government and borrowers. I think that defrauding the government is a felony. Holder, Axelrod Denounce Florida Church's Planned Quran Burning

Ripublicans are not speaking out because they endorse the division that this creates in the American People. They follow the divide and conquer principle, use hatred, lies and innuendo to put doubt in people's minds rather than use truth and facts. This is getting prominent air time on Faux News, along with the derision that is stirred up by Beck. The Ripublicans have to admit at this time that they are under the control of the "Tea Party" and the influence of the militia groups and the remnants of the K K K. Health Insurer PacifiCare Faces Up To $9.9 Billion In Fines For Nearly A Million Alleged Health Care Violations

One of the plans that the Ripublicans had was to allow cross state purchase of health insurance. What their plan will do is increase the rate at which large insurance corporations purchase smaller ones. This will not only decrease competition, but insurance companies will raise rates to cover the cvost of the mergers.

The fact that insurance companies are raising rates now is to assist the Ripublicans at the mid-term elections by showing that health care legislation will cost people more money rather than lower costs. What the insurance companies are actually doing is ensuring that their profits remain absurdly high at the expense of the consumers. Maybe if the boards and corporate officers were paid less, given smaller bonuses, and actually cared about the health of the people they covered rather than making money from them, rates would not have to be raised.

But of course, why should anyone making over $1 million per year have to make any sacrifices.

Obama Left Largely Helpless As Judicial Vacancies Reach Crisis

Once they regain power they will continue to destroy the middle class for the betterment of the rich and their corporations. Obama's Latest Stimulus Plan Gets Panned By Krugman

Unfortunately for the President, there is and will never be bi-[artisan support from the Ripublicans in Congress. He would be better to create real jobs, which will increase demand from consumers for more goods, which will cause business to make investments in people and equipment. Giving away $200 Billion in the short term will not generate jobs, it will only increase the deficit. Spending to create jobs will increase the deficit but it will also increase demand for goods and services. This will increase tax revenue faster and help reduce the deficit.

But spending without making changes to the tax code will be counter productive. There needs to be a carbon tax in all imported goods paid by the importing company. That makes those products more in-line with American goods. It nullifies China's efforts to go around anti-dumping legislation by selling goods through dummy companies in different countries. There need to be a change to income taxes so that unearned income is taxed at the earned income rate and those rates need to go up on people making over $250K. to a max of 90% for the very top earners. Those people do not create wealth anyway, wealth is created by turning raw materials into finished products, and that is done by the workers.

Europe Facing A 'Season Of Strikes' (PHOTOS)

The income and wealth gap has increased not just in the United States, but also throughout Europe. The wealthy, financiers, bankers, corporate officers, make more money in real terms today than they did 30 years ago, while those that actually create the wealth, the workers, make less. That is the same as it is in the US. The difference is that Europeans have stronger unions and better participation by their members.

As economies stagnate or get worse, as will be the case with Greece, Ireland and Spain, strikes will proliferate. The wealthy do not see why they should have to give up anything in order for the rest of the people to have jobs or a decent living.

Joseph Stiglitz And Linda Bilmes: The True Cost Of The Iraq War

"Reimagining history is a perilous exercise. Nonetheless, it seems clear that without this war, not only would America's standing in the world be higher, our economy would be stronger. The question today is: Can we learn from this costly mistake?" "...loose monetary policy and lax regulations kept the economy going."

The Ripublican experiment with market economics has proven to be a huge failure. It has led to runaway speculation in the financial markets, corporations taking risks with employees safety and lives, increasing profits and bonuses at the expense of the workers who actually keep the economy moving.

Government does work especially when the party in power believes that it works. When to strive to prove that government does not work by under funding regulatory agencies and not enforcing the regulations already in place in favor of the market self regulating, you will have a self fulfilling prophecy.

Markets will never self regulate themselves because it is not what a capitalist economy does. Corporations are charged with making profits, either by doing better than their competition or eliminating that competition, sometimes through acquisition. It is in their interest to not regulate so that they can use whatever is necessary to beat the competition and improve their market share and consequently their profits.

The true cost the the war has been the destruction of the American economy and because we are the driver of the world economy, the worlds economy as well.

Millions Die Due to Withheld Medical Treatment

The people that do not understand Lifestyle Medicine have been fooled by their television. People are bombarded everyday with ads about sugary cereal that has fiber in it so it must be good, take this diet supplement and you will loose 40 lbs in 60 days, soft drinks that contain 40% HFCS as a sweetener, and who knows what additives from imported food from China that gets processed into other food that we are bombarded with ads for.

You cannot change someones lifestyle if you are always told you do not have to. Take this pill, or eat our really expensive highly processed for and maybe follow our weight loss program, or better yet, buy some exercise equipment that you need to spend only 20 minutes on and get 6 pack abs.

We need to regulate advertisments for suppliments so that unproven statement can not be made. The FDA does not have to approve or verify the statement, but the product should have peer reviewed double bind testing done to show that it does what the makers say. High sugar cereals with fiber should not be allowed to be advertised a healthy especially when directed at children.

The new health care legislation is a start. When people see that one fast food burger (McDonalds Angus Beef which is heavily marketed has 750 to 790 calories, just for the burger) has as many calories as one third of your caloric intake for the day, they will start to change their habits.

TANF Emergency Fund: Pelosi Slams Senate Republicans For Letting Jobs-Creation Program Expire

Ripublicans are going to rescue the economy by reducing the deficit, giving more tax breaks to the rich and big business, and cutting social programs. They tried this at the end of the great Depression and the country went back into a recession.

Putting money, our money, in the hands of big business and the banks is like throwing it down a hole: It will never see the light of day until bonus checks and dividends are cut. But it will not create any new jobs. You get the economy going by putting money in the hands of the People. The People will re-ignite the economy by spending it in their local communities, business will hire new employees to meet the demands of that spending, which will lead to new tax revenues.

Give tax breaks to any company that creates a new job in the US and eliminates a job overseas. Every job that a company ships overseas should be an increase in their tax burden to pay for the people they put out of work.

Henry ford understood that in order to sell his cars, he had to have people that made enough money to buy them, so he paid his American workers top dollar.

Unemployment Rate Rises In August For First Time In 4 Months As Labor Force Expands

Give it back and the People will pay off bills, debt, and purchase new durable goods. This will increase demand for more jobs to supply the goods People need and want.

Giving money to banks and business just increase their profit margins and bonuses to management and does little to create jobs. The government can give business a tax break for every new job created in the US for every job they eliminate overseas. Those jobs would have to stay in existence for 5 years and every job shipped overseas would increase their tax burden to cover the People they have put out of work.

It is time that business and finance get it through their heads that profits for profits sake will decrease profits by reducing the amount of people that can afford the products and services the supply. Henry Ford understood that, that is why he paid his employees top dollar, so that he would have People that could afford this products.

Obama Economic Team Considering New Stimulus Heavy On Tax Breaks For Business

If the administration wants to provide tax breaks for business rather than a stimulus to the people that would spend the money, those tax breaks should be only for jobs returned to this country from overseas. Otherwise, giving tax breaks to business will not spur the economy, it will only be used to increase profit margin and bonuses.

Honey Laundering: Execs Arrested In Massive Honey-Smuggling Bust

We should not be doing any business with China. This honey laundering scheme is just the tip of the Chinese iceberg of circumventing American laws. Everything they make is contaminated with something. Their people are abused and forced to work in slave labor type conditions and paid almost nothing, they have no controls on what these companies use to make their products that are then sent to the US. we should be working diligently to force other countries that do business with China to pay for any damages or harm that their lack of enforcement causes. If they don't want to pay the costs, put a tariff on their goods as well. All that can happen is that more people will buy local, American products and more companies will shift their production here.

Kabul Bank Bailout? Mahmoud Karzai, President's Brother, Calls For U.S. To Shore Up Bank

Karzai's brothers, who have been ripping off the money we have put into that country and the drugs that they push on the world, have plenty. Let them use it to prop up their own banks. If that is not enough they can get a loan from the IMF and the World Bank that they will never have to repay. They have no social services, they have no industry, so there is nothing the banks can take from them or make them cut back on. As far as the US propping up their bank F*** NO

Bernanke Tells FCIC: 'Too Big To Fail' Problem Must Be Solved

Too big to fail for banking can easily be fixed by restoring Glass-Steagall, the larger the bank the more capital it must keep in reserve, and the fed charging larger banks more interest for their money than smaller banks. Then develop anti-monopoly legislation that keeps companies from having more than 15% market share by state, and keeping government contract to the same percentage for total contracts. This will increase competition in the long run and reduce prices to consumers.

Allergan Botox Settlement Totals $600 Million

"Once the F.D.A. has approved a drug for a particular use, doctors are permitted to prescribe that drug for other conditions when they deem it medically appropriate. But it is illegal for pharmaceutical companies to market drugs for unapproved uses".

What makes doctors think that a drug approved for ailment thing will be good to treat another ailment? Off-label uses should be restricted to approved testing procedures, and all studies conducted by a pharmaceutical company should have to be released to the FDA. If the FDA should find that a company has not released these studies, the fines should be mandatory that the drug automatically loses it patent protection, the company is fined 10% of the gross receipts for that drug, and the CEO and the Board of Directors should have to be replaced by shareholders from a selection nominated by the FDA.

Harsh, maybe, but it is time that companies stop putting profits before the American people.

Democrats Unlikely To Repeal Bush Tax Cuts

It is time that the rich start paying for the freedoms that they have in this country. if they do not want to pay higher taxes, let they go fight the wars, let them work the Peace Corp, let them teach in inner city schools.

Taxes should be returned to 1950's levels, then the debt that has been created by these cuts has been paid off including the interest on servicing it. The rich do nothing to create jobs, they just look for ways to take the millions that they have and make more millions without risk or to transfer that risk to others.

When the rich do not create jobs, the Republicans blame the government for not creating jobs. The same government that they want out of the economy. Ripublicans cannot have it both ways. Blue Dogs are just DINOs. They complain that they will loose their seats if they allow the tax cuts to end. They did not have a problem when the law was written, during a war mind you, to allow it to expire. Now they want to balk?

Their are more people under the $250k income bracket and those are the people that these politicians should be worried about. The majority of Americans will benefit from keeping the lower tax cuts and it the Democrats do not have enough intelligence to sell that that then they deserve to loose.

This is not a tax increase but a tax break for the rest of the country

Obama Tiptoes Into The Israel-Palestine Crisis

The Israeli right and the political establishment do not want peace. They want all of Palestine, as their god given right, as stated in the bible. They will negotiate until the cows come home but they will not stop the settlements, they will not stop the unauthorized settlements, and they will continue to make life hard for Palestinians. With no democratic way forward for Palestinians they will continue to see violence as their only resource.
